How organ meat is preserved determines how much of its nutritional value survives. Cooking destroys heat-sensitive vitamins and enzymes. Dehydration at warm temperatures does the same, just more slowly. Refrigerate after opening to extend freshness — the freeze-dried organs contain naturally occurring fats that slowly oxidise at room temperature. If fridge space is limited, store in a cool, dark place and use within 30–60 days of opening. Keep the lid tightly sealed.
