Tearribles were designed by a dog lover who adopted Emma, a rescue with a strong prey drive who could shred a brand new toy in under thirty seconds. After Emma worked her way through a yoga mat, a set of wooden blinds, and a box of shoes in a single afternoon, the founder spent nine months designing a toy Emma could rip apart and have rebuilt again the next day.

The result is a plush toy with detachable limbs held on by hook and loop fastenings, a mesh-lined body, triple stitching at every seam, and a squeaker tucked into its own internal pocket so it stays put during play. The same toy can be torn apart, reassembled, and played with again. And again.

Each Tearrible has limbs attached to the body with industrial-strength hook and loop (Velcro) fastenings. The resistance is calibrated to simulate the feel of a regularly stitched toy, so your dog gets the full satisfaction of pulling a limb off their "prey" without actually destroying the toy. You pick the limbs up, press them back onto the body, and the toy is ready for another round.

The body is lined on the inside with strong mesh that adds structural support and slows down any damage to the outer plush. Every seam is triple stitched. The squeaker sits inside its own sewn-in pocket so it cannot slide around or be quickly pulled out. Tearribles are voluntarily tested to meet or exceed the safety standards used for children's toys.

Tearribles come in two sizes at Woof Living. Tiny suits small dogs and gentle players. Medium is the most versatile size and suits most adult dogs, from small terriers up through medium-sized breeds. Each size is available in a range of colours, which you can select on the individual product page.
