About BetterBone
BetterBone is a plant-based dog chew made in the EU from just two ingredients — cellulose and renewable sugarcane oil. It was developed as a safer alternative to nylon, rawhide, and PVC chews, which carry real risks of splintering, intestinal obstruction, and chemical contamination. BetterBone is designed to flake off in small, digestible pieces as your dog chews — satisfying the instinct to gnaw without the hazards of conventional chews. It contains no artificial colours, flavours, or additives, and is produced in a facility that meets EU food safety standards.
The Range at Woof Living
Woof Living carries BetterBone Classic in three densities — Soft, Medium, and Hard — each available in two sizes. Soft is the gentlest option and a good starting point for any dog new to BetterBone. Medium is the everyday all-rounder. Hard is built for determined chewers who get through most things quickly. If you are unsure which density suits your dog, start with Medium and adjust based on how quickly they work through it. Free delivery on orders above $49.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is BetterBone safe if my dog swallows pieces?
BetterBone is designed to flake off in small pieces rather than break into large chunks. The cellulose and sugarcane oil ingredients are non-toxic and pass through the digestive system without issue in small amounts. As with any chew, supervise your dog during use and remove the chew if large pieces begin to break off.
How long does a BetterBone last?
Duration varies significantly by dog and density. A light chewer on Soft may take weeks. A heavy chewer on Hard may work through it in a few sessions. If your dog finishes it in one sitting, step up to the next density. If they show no interest or struggle to make progress, step down.
Which density should I start with?
Medium is the safest starting point for most dogs. If your dog is a light chewer, a senior, or has never used BetterBone before, start with Soft. If your dog destroys most chews quickly, go straight to Hard.
Is BetterBone suitable for puppies?
Soft density is appropriate for puppies with developing teeth. Avoid Hard density for puppies as it may be too firm for young teeth. Always supervise puppies with any chew.
