If you feed your dog fresh food — raw or lightly cooked, meat-based, prepared at home — your dog needs calcium. Muscle meat alone contains very little; bones and bone-based sources contain a lot. Eggshell, seaweed, and coral provide calcium but contain little or no phosphorus — which means the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio in the final meal has to be balanced separately, often guessed at. Better Bones is measured against the amount of fresh food you're feeding — not against your dog's body weight directly. This is because calcium needs scale with total food volume, not bodyweight.

Adult dogs. Mix 2 teaspoons of Better Bones into every 1 pound (roughly 450g) of home-prepared food. This delivers a calcium-to-phosphorus ratio of 1:1.

Not recommended for puppy foods with more than 20% fat. A 250g jar typically balances around 30 pounds (13.6kg) of adult dog food — enough for approximately 2 months for a medium-sized dog on a fully DIY diet.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not required. Keep the lid tightly sealed. Shelf stable.
