Steve's Real Food Raw Freeze-Dried Turducken is a complete and balanced raw meal for dogs and cats, combining three poultry proteins — free-range turkey, White Pekin duck, and free-range chicken — with whole-food produce, raw goat's milk, New Zealand green-lipped mussels, kelp, salmon oil and coconut oil. The full raw meal is formulated first, then freeze-dried whole to lock in raw nutrition in a shelf-stable, scoop-and-serve format. Formulated to the B.A.R.F. model (80% meat, organ and bone; 15% produce; 5% value-added ingredients), meeting AAFCO nutrient profiles — no synthetic vitamin pack, no grains, no fillers.

Always rehydrate before serving as a meal. Warm water, bone broth or raw goat's milk all work — feeding dry in more than treat-sized amounts can cause digestive discomfort.

WHY THE TURDUCKEN RECIPE

Turducken is Steve's Real Food's three-protein rotation in a single bag — turkey, duck, and chicken combined in one recipe. The appeal is variety without the need to rotate physically between bags, and the nutritional spread that comes from three different poultry proteins working together. Duck in particular is the standout inclusion: naturally higher in iron than chicken or turkey, with a distinct fatty acid profile that contributes to the recipe's omega-3 load. Classified as a neutral protein in the TCM energetic framework. A useful option for dogs that do well on poultry broadly but get bored of single-protein recipes, and for households that want to keep rotation simple.

THE MISSING CATEGORY IN SHELF-STABLE DOG FOOD

Shelf-stable dog food in Singapore is almost entirely kibble, and even the better-marketed bags sit on the same foundation — cooked at high temperatures, bulked with starch, and rebuilt to completeness through a synthetic vitamin and mineral premix. The freeze-dried shelf has grown, but much of it is either a kibble-adjacent topper or a "raw-coated" kibble with freeze-dried meat sprayed onto an extruded core.

What's missing is a genuinely raw, complete diet that travels. Steve's Real Food is that format — a full raw meal formulated to BARF ratios, then preserved without heat and without synthetics. The nuggets are shelf-stable until opened, rehydrate to a porridge consistency in minutes, and deliver the nutritional profile of a frozen raw meal in a bag that fits in a travel kit.

INGREDIENTS

Source: Steve's Real Food. Turkey from a family farm in California; chicken from an eight-generation family farm in Washington/Oregon; White Pekin duck from Maple Leaf Farms in Indiana.

Ground Turkey, Turkey Liver, Turkey Heart — free-range, non-GMO-fed turkey. The lean backbone of the recipe.

Ground Chicken, Chicken Liver — free-range chicken from a Non-GMO Project verified farm. Adds a complete amino acid profile and mid-range energetics.

Ground Duck — White Pekin duck from Maple Leaf Farms. Cage-free, no growth hormones or antibiotics. Higher iron content and a distinct fatty acid profile relative to turkey or chicken.

Broccoli, Apples, Romaine Lettuce, Celery — the produce fraction. A spread of antioxidants, fibre and plant-derived micronutrients.

Goat's Milk — raw goat's milk from a family farm in Gaston, Oregon. Naturally occurring probiotics and digestive enzymes.

New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussels — whole-food omega-3s plus glucosamine and chondroitin. Joint and skin support.

Dried Kelp — whole-food source of iodine and trace minerals.

Sesame Seeds, Chia Seeds, Flaxseed — layered plant-based omega-3s, fibre and additional minerals.

Coconut Oil, Salmon Oil — medium-chain triglycerides from coconut; EPA and DHA from salmon.

HOW TO FEED

Scoop, rehydrate, serve. Measure the daily amount into a clean bowl and add warm water at a ratio of ¾ cup water to every 1 cup of nuggets. Stir and let the liquid absorb for 5–10 minutes, until the food reaches a porridge consistency. Low-sodium bone broth or raw goat's milk can be used in place of water. Puppies and kittens under 6 months should be fed the daily amount split across two meals. When switching from kibble or another food, transition gradually over 1–2 weeks.

Body weight Daily amount (dry) Days per bag Cost per day
2–5 kg 30–55 g ~10–19 days ~$5.64
5–10 kg 55–95 g ~6–10 days ~$10.06
10–20 kg 95–170 g ~3–6 days ~$17.70
20–30 kg 170–240 g ~2–3 days ~$27.49
30 kg+ 240 g+ ~1–2 days from ~$32.17

Cost per day uses the mid-point of each feeding range at $76 per bag. Every dog metabolises food differently — adjust up or down based on activity level, age and body condition.

STORAGE

Keep the bag sealed, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Singapore humidity is the main thing to manage — store in a dry cupboard or pantry, not near a window or in a bathroom-adjacent space. Once opened, use within 4–6 weeks. Unopened shelf life is typically 24 months from manufacture; check the best-by date on the packaging. Handle the nuggets and rehydrated food with the same care as raw meat — wash hands, bowls, and surfaces after each meal. Refrigerate any uneaten rehydrated food and use within 24 hours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why combine three poultry proteins in one recipe?
Variety without complexity. Rotating proteins exposes dogs to a broader nutritional range and reduces the risk of single-protein sensitivities developing. Turducken delivers that rotation in a single bag — useful for households that don't want to manage multiple open bags at once.

My dog is allergic to chicken. Can they still eat this?
No — this recipe contains chicken alongside turkey and duck. For chicken-sensitive dogs, try the Pork, Lamu or White Fish recipes instead.

Is this a complete meal or a topper?
It is a complete and balanced diet, formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages. It can replace kibble entirely, or be used as a topper — the food is the same either way.

Does this replace routine vet care?
No. A nutrient-dense diet supports overall health, but it is not a substitute for regular check-ups, dental care or prescribed medication.

Is it suitable for senior dogs?
Yes. The rehydrated porridge texture is easy on teeth, and the neutral energetics suit most older dogs. The higher moisture content supports kidney and urinary health.

Can I feed this to a puppy?
Yes — the recipe meets AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages, including growth. Puppies need proportionally more food per kilo of body weight than adults.

Can I rotate this with the other Steve's Real Food proteins?
Yes. Steve's Real Food offers Chicken, Beef, Turkey, Pork, Lamu (lamb + emu) and White Fish in the same freeze-dried format. Many owners alternate Turducken with a red-meat or fish recipe for broader nutritional spread.
