The Lambwolf Holiday NOU® is a long, soft, flexible fabric tube that transforms into whatever you make of it — a pretzel, a boating knot, a tossing ball, a tug rope, or a custom knotted shape you invent together. Tie treats into the knots and let your dog work them out as a nosework puzzle, or use it straight as a tug or fetch toy. The design question that made NOU®.
The Lambwolf studio asked three questions when they designed NOU®: how can one toy stay interesting for longer, how can something be a dog thing and a human thing, and how can a toy's form challenge the pet and the owner's creativity? NOU® is that answer — a flexible soft-fabric tube that becomes a new toy every time you tie it differently.
Built to a higher standard.
All Lambwolf Collective products are made with materials tested to EN71-3 standards and are free from harmful heavy metals. Squeakers and fillings meet the U.S. ASTM F963-17 toy safety standard — the same benchmark applied to children's toys. Dogs can't read labels — but you can. Choose toys that are made to a standard, not just made to a price.
How It Works
Unknotted, the Holiday NOU® is a soft fabric tube around 4.5ft (135cm) long and 4cm in diameter — flexible enough to tie into almost any shape. What you do with it is the point.
Tie it into a pretzel — a classic starter knot that sits nicely in the hand and the mouth. Great for throwing, chewing, or tugging.
Tie it into a boating knot — more complex, with multiple loops for your dog to investigate. Stepped-up challenge for experienced players.
Tie it into a tossing ball — wind it into a compact knot ball for fetch. Soft on the mouth, easy to carry, and unusual in shape compared to the standard tennis ball.
Use it straight as a tug rope — 4.5 feet of flexible tube gives both of you plenty to grip for a game of tug.
Hide treats in the knots — tie knots with treats tucked in and let your dog work the knots out as a nosework puzzle. The tighter the knot, the longer the session.
Air-dried treats work best. They hold their shape inside the fabric knots, don't crumble, and don't grease the tube. Freeze-dried treats also work well. Browse our treats collection for air-dried and freeze-dried options that tuck cleanly into the knots.

If one Holiday NOU® becomes too easy for your dog, level up by combining two or three NOU®s into more complex knot shapes. Each additional NOU® doubles the puzzle complexity and triples the visual interest. The original intent of the design: a toy that grows with your dog and your own creativity.

Double-stitched and reinforced seams — every seam on the Holiday NOU® is double-stitched and reinforced to hold up to repeated knotting, unknotting, and tug sessions.

Care Instructions
Unknot the Holiday NOU® before washing for the most thorough clean. Machine washable — run on a gentle cycle with a mild, pet-safe detergent and air dry fully before returning to your dog. Do not tumble dry.
Supervise all play.
No plush toy is indestructible — not even the well-made ones. Always supervise play and remove the toy if chewing starts. We especially recommend close supervision the first time any new play object is introduced. You know your dog better than anyone. Trust that, and guide them well.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up the Holiday NOU® for nosework?
Tie treats directly into the knots as you shape the NOU®. For a beginner session, use a loose pretzel knot with the treats visibly peeking out. For a longer challenge, tie tighter, more complex knots (like a boating knot) with the treats fully hidden inside. Hand the knotted NOU® to your dog and let them work the knots out as a nosework puzzle.
What treats work best?
Air-dried treats are our top recommendation — they hold their shape inside the fabric knots, don't crumble, and don't grease the tube. Freeze-dried and other dry training treats also work well. You can browse our treats collection for suitable options. Avoid wet food or anything sticky.
What knots should I try?
Start with a simple pretzel (cross one end over the other and tuck through the loop). Once your dog has that down, try a boating knot for more complexity, a compact knot ball for fetch, or leave the NOU® straight as a tug rope. If one NOU® becomes too easy, combine two or three NOU®s for more complex knot shapes.
Is the Holiday NOU® safe for rough chewers?
The soft fabric is gentle on mouths, teeth, and gums, and all seams are double-stitched and reinforced for rough play. Like all plush toys, it is not indestructible — supervise your dog and remove the toy if chewing starts to break down the fabric.
Can the Holiday NOU® be washed?
Yes — unknot it first for the most thorough clean, then machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild, pet-safe detergent. Air dry fully before returning to your dog. Do not tumble dry.
Does the Holiday NOU® squeak?
No — the Holiday NOU® does not have a squeaker. The enrichment comes from the knotting, nosework, and tug-and-toss play.
