A mushroom that fights back. The Lambwolf GUU is a button mushroom-shaped snuffle toy with slit pockets tucked under its cap, a round unstable base that rolls when batted, and a squeaker hidden inside the stem. Treats tuck into the gill pockets; the rolling base keeps the toy moving just as a dog thinks they have it pinned. Available in two sizes and two cap fabrics — Haze (smooth faux fur) and Oat (curly sherpa). Suitable for cats too, with catnip tucked into the pockets in place of treats.

Built to a higher standard.

All Lambwolf Collective products are made with materials tested to EN71-3 standards and are free from harmful heavy metals. Squeakers and fillings meet the U.S. ASTM F963-17 toy safety standard — the same benchmark applied to children's toys. Dogs can't read labels — but you can. Choose toys that are made to a standard, not just made to a price.

How It Works

Tuck treats into the slit pockets under the GUU's cap and set it on the floor. Your dog noses and paws at the pockets to retrieve each treat — but the round, unstable base rolls every time they nudge it, keeping the GUU moving and the session unpredictable. The squeaker at the base activates with every tumble, drawing dogs back in.

Slit pocket nosework — treats tuck into narrow gill pockets under the mushroom cap. Dogs work their snout in from the side to retrieve each one.
Rolling base challenge — the round bottom rolls when batted or nudged, adding movement and instability to every session. The toy doesn't stay still.
Squeaky reward — one squeaker inside the stem activates on contact, motivating dogs to keep engaging.
Fetch — the GUU's rounded shape and light weight make it a satisfying object to carry and fetch between foraging sessions.

Treat length is the difficulty dial.

The GUU's slit pockets are narrow by design. Longer treats with one end peeking out of the pocket give dogs something to grip and pull — a more accessible session. Treats tucked fully inside the pocket with nothing exposed require dogs to work their snout deeper in to retrieve — a harder session. Start long to introduce the toy, and go shorter as your dog's nosework skills develop. Avoid kibble or very small pieces — if a treat is fully hidden with no exposed end, dogs without fingers can find this frustrating rather than rewarding.

Air-dried treats work best. They hold their shape in the slit pockets, don't crumble, and don't grease the fabric. Longer strip treats sit particularly well with an exposed end for easier sessions. Browse our treats collection for air-dried and freeze-dried options that suit the GUU's pockets.

Cap Fabrics

Haze — smooth, dense faux fur in a cool grey tone. A sleeker cap texture with a softer feel in the mouth.

Oat — curly sherpa bouclé in a warm oat/taupe tone. A more textured cap surface that engages dogs who respond to varied fabric feel.

Both fabrics share the same grey nylon knit stem and base.

Size Guide

Small 5" (approx. 13cm) — suits smaller dogs and cats. Suggested breeds: Chihuahua, Italian Greyhound, toy breeds, and cats.
Medium 6" (approx. 15cm) — suits small to medium dogs. Suggested breeds: Shiba Inu, Corgi, Poodle, and similar.

Care Instructions

The slit pockets are removable — pull them out before washing for a thorough clean. Machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild, pet-safe detergent and air dry fully. Do not tumble dry.

Supervise all play.

No plush toy is indestructible — not even the well-made ones. Always supervise play and remove the toy if chewing starts. We especially recommend close supervision the first time any new play object is introduced. You know your dog better than anyone. Trust that, and guide them well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up the GUU?
Tuck treats into the slit pockets under the mushroom cap — start with longer treats so one end is peeking out of each pocket. Place the GUU on the floor and let your dog nose and paw at each pocket. The rolling base will move the toy as they work, keeping the session unpredictable and the squeaker active.

What treats work best?
Air-dried treats are our top recommendation — they hold their shape in the slit pockets and don't crumble or grease the fabric. Use longer strip treats with an exposed end for easier sessions. Shorter pieces tucked fully inside the pockets ramp the challenge up. Browse our treats collection for suitable options. Avoid kibble or very small pieces — if a treat is entirely hidden with no exposed end, dogs without fingers can find this frustrating rather than rewarding.

Which size should I choose?
Small (5") is suited to smaller dogs and cats — Chihuahuas, Italian Greyhounds, toy breeds, and most cats. Medium (6") is suited to small to medium dogs such as Shiba Inus, Corgis, and Poodles. If your dog is between sizes or on the larger side, size up.

Is this suitable for beginner dogs?
Yes. The rolling base and slit pockets make the GUU more challenging than flat snuffle toys, but beginners can engage immediately — start with longer treats with exposed ends in just a few pockets. As your dog's nosework confidence builds, tuck treats fully inside and load all the pockets.

What is the difference between Haze and Oat?
Haze has a smooth, dense faux fur cap in a cool grey. Oat has a curly sherpa bouclé cap in a warm oat/taupe tone. Both share the same grey nylon knit stem and base, and the same pocket and squeaker configuration. The choice is purely about texture preference and aesthetics.

Can the GUU be used for cats?
Yes — tuck a small amount of catnip into the slit pockets in place of treats. The Small size is recommended for most cats. The rolling base makes the GUU particularly engaging for cats who like to bat and chase.

Can the pockets be removed for washing?
Yes — the slit pockets pull out from the underside of the cap for a thorough clean. Machine wash on a gentle cycle and air dry fully before reassembling.
