A slicker brush with fine, bent stainless-steel pins designed to work through tangles, remove surface mats, and lift loose hair from the coat. The bamboo handle makes it more sustainable than typical plastic slickers, while maintaining the same functional profile. Suitable for dogs and cats.

What it does

The closely spaced, bent pins catch and work through tangles without pulling. This is the brush to reach for when your dog's coat has small mats, static knots, or surface tangles that a pin brush or bristle brush won't handle. Also effective at removing loose hair before it falls on furniture.

Best for

Curly-coated breeds prone to matting (Poodles, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, Bichon Frise), long-haired breeds with fine coats (Maltese, Yorkies, Shih Tzus), and dogs whose coat tends to knot behind the ears, under the chin, or between the legs.

How to use

Work in small sections. Hold the skin taut with one hand and brush with short, gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth. Don't press hard — the pins are designed to catch tangles without force. If you hit a stubborn knot, switch to fingers to work it apart rather than pulling through. Regular light brushing prevents the need for aggressive detangling later.

Be gentle with sensitive skin. The fine pins are designed to work through tangles but can cause "slicker brush burn" if used too aggressively on the same spot. Short, light strokes across different areas are better than repeated strokes on one patch of skin.
