BetterBone Natural Venison brings that same logic to chewing: a plant-based chew with natural venison flavouring, built for dogs who love a real game-meat scent but whose owners want to avoid the proteins that trigger sensitivities.
The base material is identical across all BetterBone variants: natural cellulose and corn-plant-derived polymer, manufactured in the EU, and free from nylon, rubber, synthetic chemicals, and artificial additives. The Natural Venison flavour adds a natural, game-derived note that is particularly appealing to dogs that find conventional chews unremarkable.

The material at the heart of every BetterBone is called Vernovo — a proprietary formula developed with over 25 years of material science expertise. It is renewable, sustainably sourced within the European Union, and designed to give dogs a satisfying, durable chew without the risks of conventional materials.
BetterBone produces no stains, no odour, and no microplastics. Every bone is hypoallergenic and splinter-resistant. Packaging is 100% FSC Mix recycled materials, plastic-free, and printed with non-toxic ink. Production reduces CO2 emissions by 85% compared to nylon-based chews, and remaining carbon is offset through Tree-Nation reforestation.
Natural Venison flavour contains natural venison-derived flavouring. If your dog has a known venison protein allergy, choose Classic Hypoallergenic instead. For dogs with beef sensitivity only, this is a suitable flavoured alternative.

Choose your size
Select the size that matches your dog's weight. When in doubt, size up — a bone that is slightly larger is safer than one a dog could swallow.

When to replace your BetterBone
BetterBone is built to last several weeks with regular use. Replace it when any of the following apply:
Size: Replace when the bone has worn down to a size your dog could swallow.
Damage: Replace if visible cracks, splinters, or chunks are breaking off.
Discomfort: Replace if your dog shows any discomfort or loses interest in the bone.

Frequently asked questions
Is Natural Venison suitable for dogs with beef allergies?
Yes, provided the dog does not also have a venison sensitivity. Venison is a novel protein for most dogs and is widely used in elimination diets. If your dog has a confirmed beef allergy specifically, Natural Venison or Classic Hypoallergenic are both suitable options.
Does the Natural Venison flavour contain real venison?
It contains natural venison-derived flavouring. This gives the chew a real game-meat scent and taste without dried or raw meat. Dogs with a confirmed venison protein allergy should use the Classic Hypoallergenic instead.
Will the venison flavour stain or smell?
No. BetterBone does not stain and does not produce the strong odour associated with bully sticks or rawhide. The natural flavouring is incorporated into the material, not applied as a surface coating.
My dog chewed through it very quickly. What should I do?
Move up one density. Fast consumption usually means the chew is too soft for your dog's jaw strength. Refer to the Chew Guide for breed-specific recommendations.
Is it safe if my dog ingests small pieces?
Small fragments ingested during normal chewing are not a concern — the ingredients are plant-based and non-toxic. The bone should be replaced before it wears down to a swallowable size.
