Augustine’s SuperBalm

Augustine's SuperBalm is a 92% certified organic topical balm for dogs, formulated for yeasty ears, itchy paws, irritated snouts, and troubled skin. Based on an award-winning human skincare product, the formula is built on a base of oils and butters — not water. This matters because conventional creams are on average 80% water, and water requires preservatives to prevent bacterial growth. By producing a balm instead, Augustine Approved eliminates the need for preservatives entirely while delivering a more concentrated, potent formula. The remaining 8% of ingredients are naturally derived and approved for use in certified organic production.

SuperBalm is the between-bath companion to SuperBath — providing continuous topical support in hard-to-bathe areas like the ears, skin folds, and paw crevices where daily bathing is impractical. Used together, the two products provide comprehensive topical skin management while the internal supplements address the underlying cause.

Coconut Oil — the base of the formula. Virgin cold-pressed coconut oil is naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, deeply moisturising, and one of the few oils that penetrates the skin rather than sitting on top of it. Supports skin barrier repair and yeast control.

Shea Butter — rich in fatty acids and vitamins A and E, Shea Butter is deeply nourishing and soothing for dry, irritated, or inflamed skin. One of the most widely used ingredients in sensitive skincare.

Sweet Almond Oil — light and absorbing, Sweet Almond Oil is rich in vitamin E and oleic acid. Softens and conditions the skin and helps the other ingredients penetrate effectively.

Castor Oil — a thick, emollient oil that forms a protective layer over the skin, locking in moisture and supporting the skin's healing process. Has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.

Sunflower Oil — high in linoleic acid, which supports the skin's lipid barrier. Helps restore skin barrier integrity in dogs with dry or compromised skin.

Calendula Flowers — one of the most versatile topical botanicals, Calendula is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and supports skin tissue repair. Used for centuries to treat skin conditions.

Candelilla Wax — a plant-derived wax that gives the balm its consistency and helps it stay in place on the skin. A vegan alternative to beeswax.

Cocoa Butter — deeply moisturising and rich in antioxidants, Cocoa Butter helps soothe and nourish dry, cracked, or irritated skin.

Vitamin E Oil — a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects the skin from oxidative damage and supports skin healing and regeneration.

Jojoba Oil — technically a liquid wax, Jojoba closely resembles the skin's own sebum and is exceptionally well absorbed. Balances oil production and supports skin repair.

Roman Chamomile — one of the most gentle and effective soothing botanicals available, Roman Chamomile calms inflamed, irritated, and itchy skin. Well established for use in sensitive skincare.

Apply to troubled areas 1–3 times daily. SuperBalm is particularly effective for ears, paws, snout, skin folds, and any area where daily bathing is impractical. For best results, use alongside SuperBath — SuperBath for periodic deep cleansing, SuperBalm for daily between-bath maintenance.

Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight below 30°C. Do not refrigerate. Use within 12 months of opening.
