A CANINE ANCESTRAL DIET — WHY GOAT, LAMB & LEAFY GREENS
This recipe is formulated to mimic what a dog would eat in the wild — including vegetable matter from the stomach contents of prey animals. The seasonal leafy greens (spinach, lettuce, bok choy, carrot tops, kale, herbs, cress, kangkong, and rocket) provide high antioxidant and protective phytonutrients, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and healthy soluble fibre. Whole eggs add a complete source of amino acids alongside vitamin A, riboflavin, folate, vitamin B12, iron, selenium, and fatty acids. Fresh sardines and hemp seed oil deliver an outstanding omega fatty acid profile. This is the most nutrient-diverse recipe in the Organic Paws range — suited to dogs that thrive on variety and whole-food nutrition.
Why is this recipe dogs only?
Cats are obligate carnivores with a strictly limited ability to process plant matter. The leafy greens in this recipe — including kale, spinach, and rocket — are not appropriate for cats. All other Organic Paws recipes at Woof Living are suitable for both dogs and cats.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is this recipe dogs only?
Cats are obligate carnivores with a strictly limited ability to process plant matter. The leafy greens in this recipe — including kale, spinach, and rocket — are not appropriate for cats. All other Organic Paws recipes at Woof Living are suitable for both dogs and cats.
What is the difference between Original Blend and Powerhouse?
The Original Blend recipes use a pure formula of meat, organs, ground bone, cod liver oil, and kelp. This Powerhouse recipe adds seasonal certified organic leafy greens, fresh sardines, whole eggs, and hemp seed oil — additional whole-food superfoods that elevate the nutritional profile significantly beyond the Original Blend base. Both are complete and balanced meals suitable for everyday feeding.
The protein content looks lower than other recipes — why?
The leafy greens, eggs, and hemp seed oil add moisture and carbohydrates that dilute the protein percentage per 100g relative to pure-meat recipes. The overall nutritional profile is complete and balanced — the lower protein percentage reflects the broader ingredient diversity rather than reduced meat content.
Why must it be served raw and not cooked?
The recipe contains ground bone. Cooked bone splinters and can cause serious internal injury — raw ground bone is safe, digestible, and the natural source of calcium in the recipe. Cooking also destroys heat-sensitive nutrients including taurine, natural enzymes, and beneficial bacteria.
