About The Grateful Pet

Founded in 2017 as The Grateful Dog by Rachel and Sandee, the company was born from a personal mission to find the healthiest diet for their own dogs: Lucy the Boston Terrier and Clash the Beagle. Rebranded to The Grateful Pet in 2021 when the range expanded to include cat food, the company makes fresh, complete and balanced meals for dogs and cats in an AVS-licensed facility in Singapore. Every recipe is scientifically formulated using a vet-developed dietary programme, meeting AAFCO and NRC nutritional standards. All ingredients are human-grade, with no artificial preservatives, fillers, or feed-grade ingredients. The raw food range has been tested against permissible levels of listeria, salmonella, and E. coli. A portion of every sale supports local animal shelters and rescue organisations through The Grateful Give Back programme.

The range. Gently Cooked Dog Food (7 proteins), Raw Dog Food (6 proteins), Raw Cat Food (4 proteins), Support+ targeted nutrition (Digestive Support for dogs, Kidney Support for dogs, UTI Support for cats), Bone Broth (6 flavours). All meals delivered frozen within Singapore.
Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between gently cooked and raw?

Gently cooked meals are prepared at 80°C, retaining more nutrients than conventional cooking while eliminating pathogens. Raw meals are uncooked and flash-frozen, preserving maximum bioavailability. Both formats are AAFCO-balanced. Many owners rotate between both.

Are the meals suitable for puppies and kittens?

Gently cooked and raw meals are suitable for puppies and kittens aged 5 months and above. Raw food is not recommended for animals under 5 months, pets with cancer, or those on chemotherapy or immunosuppressant medication.

What is Support+ and do I need a prescription?

Support+ is a clinically tested range of whole-food support diets for dogs and cats with digestive, kidney, or urinary health needs. Unlike prescription diets, Support+ is available without prescription and safe to feed as everyday nutrition. It does not treat or cure medical conditions, but helps ensure nutrition does not exacerbate symptoms.

How should I store the food?

Keep frozen at -18°C. Thaw overnight in the chiller. Once opened, gently cooked food keeps for up to 48 hours in the chiller; raw food should be consumed within 24 hours. Bone broth can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days once thawed, and unused broth in its original packaging can be refrozen and consumed within 2 to 3 months. Unopened meals and broths last 1 year from the date of production.

Are the recipes grain-free?

All recipes are grain-free except the Digestive Support diet, which includes oats for their immunomodulation benefits. No potatoes or green peas are used in any recipe.

What are the delivery minimums for The Grateful Pet?

All The Grateful Pet meals are delivered frozen within Singapore. Complimentary frozen delivery applies to: dog food orders of 2 or more boxes, cat food orders of 3 or more boxes, and bone broth orders of 8 or more pouches. Orders below these minimums incur a $20 frozen delivery fee. Bone broth can also be added to any food box order at no extra delivery cost.

What if there's an issue with my delivery?

Frozen meals cannot be returned once delivered, due to food safety. If anything arrives damaged, thawed, or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible with clear photos and we will resolve it for you.
