Original Blend Kangaroo is a complete and balanced raw meal for dogs and cats — made in Australia from wild-caught kangaroo buttock and loin meat, combined with liver, kidney, heart, green tripe, ground bone, cod liver oil, and kelp. The highest-protein recipe in the Organic Paws Original Blend range at 18.48g per 100g, and the lowest in energy density at 615 KJ per 100g — making it the ideal choice for overweight pets, allergic animals, or any pet that benefits from a novel, lean protein source.
Note: Australia does not farm kangaroo, so this recipe cannot carry Australian Certified Organic (ACO) certification. The kangaroo used is wild-caught and free from pesticides, chemicals, hormones, and preservatives.
Always serve raw. Never cook — the recipe contains ground bone which becomes brittle and potentially dangerous when heated.
WHY ORIGINAL BLEND KANGAROO
Kangaroo is one of the least common proteins in commercial pet food globally, making it an excellent novel protein for dogs and cats with food sensitivities or confirmed protein allergies. Because most pets have never been exposed to kangaroo, the immune system is unlikely to have developed a reaction to it. It is also the leanest and highest-protein recipe in the Original Blend range — well suited to weight management, senior pets with lower energy needs, or any animal that benefits from a lean, digestible protein.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this suitable for cats as well as dogs?
Yes. Original Blend Kangaroo is suitable for both dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies and kittens.
Why is kangaroo not certified organic?
Australia does not farm kangaroo — it is wild-caught. Organic certification requires controlled farming conditions, which cannot apply to wild animals. The kangaroo used by Organic Paws is free from pesticides, chemicals, hormones, and preservatives — it simply cannot carry the ACO certification mark.
Is kangaroo a good choice for dogs with allergies or food sensitivities?
Yes — kangaroo is one of the least common proteins in commercial pet food, making it an excellent novel protein for pets with confirmed or suspected protein sensitivities. Most dogs and cats have never been exposed to kangaroo, so the immune system is unlikely to have developed a reaction to it.
Why must it be served raw and not cooked?
The recipe contains ground bone. Cooked bone splinters and can cause serious internal injury — raw ground bone is safe, digestible, and the natural source of calcium in the recipe. Cooking also destroys heat-sensitive nutrients including taurine, natural enzymes, and beneficial bacteria.
